APL Plastics is a family business and was originally established in Acton, London, in 1959 as trade granulators under the name Acton Plastics Limited.
In 1963 the company moved to a factory on the Poyle Trading Estate in Slough, where our activities expanded to include colour compounding and the recycling of plastic waste.
It was in 1978 that we began to extrude High Impact Polystyrene sheet suitable for thermoforming, which increased in volume year upon year and in 2001 Polypropylene sheet became a commercial product.
Between the two materials, all colours are available along with natural and high clarity grades that are suitable for microwave, chiller cabinet and freezer use.
All material is sold to converters within the EU.
In 2006 we moved to new purpose built premises in Basingstoke, Hampshire and abbreviated our name to APL (Acton Plastics Limited).
Machinery is constantly being updated to keep quality of the highest order by taking advantage of the latest innovations for production.
Markets currently served include mainly food as well as the toy, toiletries and cosmetics industries.
